Our Certifications

Accredited Air Cargo Agent (AACA)

This scheme is for businesses that handle, make arrangements for or transport air cargo. This includes cargo that has:

  • been examined and cleared by a Regulated Air Cargo Agent (RACA) under an Examination Notice; or

  • originated from, and been cleared by, a Known Consignor.

AACAs play an important role in maintaining whole of supply chain security. They are an integral part of the regulatory framework established to safeguard against unlawful interference with aviation. AACAs facilitate the transport of cargo between Known Consignors, RACAs, other AACAs and airports. Cargo which has been cleared for uplift on an aircraft by a Known Consignor or a RACA retains its cleared status if transported by an AACA in a secure manner.

Basic Fatigue Management (BFM)

Operators with BFM accreditation can operate under more flexible work and rest hours, allowing for (among other things) work of up to 14 hours in a 24-hour period.

Maintenance Management accreditation

Maintenance Management accreditation encourages heavy vehicle operators to take more responsibility for correctly maintaining their vehicles and ensuring they’re always in good mechanical condition. It also helps operators manage their business more efficiently, providing clear procedures to ensure vehicles are correctly maintained, thereby reducing the risk of penalty for having faulty vehicles or equipment. Better maintenance also means fewer breakdowns and broken delivery deadlines and improved road safety.

Mass Management accreditation

Mass Management accreditation encourages heavy vehicle operators to take more responsibility for loading their trucks correctly and ensuring that their trucks are not overloaded. It helps you to manage your business more efficiently, partly because you will have clear procedures for ensuring that your trucks are not overloaded and partly because there will be reduced risk of penalties from mass offences. It should also lead to greater productivity and road safety

PERFORMANCE-BASED STANDARDS (PBS)

WHAT IS PBS?

Performance-Based Standards (PBS) offers an alternative regulatory system which allows heavy vehicle combinations to achieve higher productivity and safety through innovative and optimised vehicle designs.

As stated by the National Heavy Vehicle Register (NHVR), “PBS approved vehicles are designed to perform their tasks as productively, safely and sustainably as possible, and to operate on networks that are appropriate for their level of performance. The basic principle of PBS is matching the right vehicles to the right tasks”.

Under PBS vehicles are assessed according to 16 minimum vehicle performance standards to ensure they are stable on the road and can turn and stop safely. Additionally, there are four infrastructure protection standards.
